Still Here

I am sorry it has been so long since my last post. Some of my absence can be blamed on happy things- swimming, playing in the sprinkler, visiting family. But I have also been tending to a sick grandmother. I have been to see Nana twice in the last ten days. Her doctor told me yesterday that she is a real spit fire. Yes, I will wholeheartedly agree with that. She is home and stable and for that I am grateful. I will not be surprised if she is cooking her own meals and firing her home nurses by this time next week. Her favorite trick is to ask the sitter to go get her something at the grocery store and while they are gone, she locks the door and refuses to let them back in. I know she is really sick now because she hasn't kicked them out yet. Watching her at this stage in her life has taught me a lot about letting go. The letting go that she is doing to enable herself to embrace eternity and the letting go we all must do in order to live this life more fully.

I have lots of stories to tell whenever time allows, but in the meantime, here is what we have been up to!
