Virginia is doing a lot better and we are home.

It is safe to say that Virginia was everyone's favorite patient. I was not everyone's favorite mother-of-the-patient. The charge nurse offered to pull the car around when we left! My red hair seems to really come out in the hospital, but after what we went through in the beginning, I just don't think that will ever change.

We aren't using the tube for feeding, but Virginia is keeping down whatever she has by mouth. So, we are back to doing things the way we were before. But I think if something were wrong with her stomach because of the tube, she would still be throwing up what goes in by mouth, too. Hopefully with time she will get used to the tube and we can start to use it. (I hate it when Findley is right.)

She does seem to have some reflux that she didn't have before. That is worrisome because she can aspirate, but we are hoping it will go away as her stomach heals.

Thank you for all your calls, emails, texts, food, etc. We have all felt very loved, especially Virginia.

My parents are here and Virginia and I have both slept 16 hours since we got home. I don't think either one of us has slept that much in years.

I'll let you know how she is doing on Monday, but I think we are heading in the right direction.
